California is home to many business entities, but it is also the number 2 state when it comes to natural disasters (mostly earthquakes and wildfires), with a considerable disaster count of 78 since 1953. Businesses buy insurance policies to help them through these difficult times; after all, disasters can strike at any time, and they depend on their insurance companies for aid during such events.
However, that is not often the case. Sometimes, the insurance companies underpay claims or delay payments, leaving policy holders to suffer. And though there may be times when the insurance firms are just unreasonable, such roadblocks may sometimes be warranted due to mistakes on the part of the business.
